Making the world a better place

These are questions that applicants have had in previous years. If your question is not answered in this section and you have read through the rest of the instructions, feel free to contact us.

I have forgotten my password , can I still access my saved application?

Yes, as long as you completed page 2 of the 'pre-application' process and saved the information. In the pre-application process, you will create a username and password and ALSO provide information to retrieve those credentials in case they are misplaced. Please close this window, return to the Scholarship Center, and select the link to have these credentials emailed to you.

I am a legal resident of California, but my father is in the military and we're stationed overseas. Am I still eligible?

Yes, but you may be asked to provide proof of California residency, such as a copy of your parent's California State Income tax forms.

I have been interviewed for citizenship and was told that I passed, however I have not received my certificate yet. Can I still apply for the scholarship?

Yes, as long as you can provide proof that you are scheduled to be sworn in as a U.S. Citizen.

I don't have a Masonic relative; can I still apply for the scholarship?

Yes, only a few of our scholarships give preference to applicants with a Masonic relative.

My Grandfather was a Mason, but I don't know if he was a California Mason?

If you can supply the information requested in the application process about your grandfather, we can check his status as a Califonia Mason. You will not be disqualified if he is not a California Mason.

I no longer live with my parents and am not supported by them. What should I enter in the financial section of the application?

If you are financially independent and are not claimed as a dependent on anyone's income tax forms, then you should enter your own financial information. If you are supported by a relative or someone else, then we ask that you enter that person's financial information.

My school only puts the weighted GPA on the transcript. What should I do?

If your school will not put the unweighted GPA (on a 4.0 scale) on your transcript, ask if they can attach a separate signed letter to your transcript with the unweighted GPA.

How will I know if I need to send in additional supporting documents?

We will send an email within 7 days of the deadline with a list of what you need to send to our office and additional instructions. This will indicate that you have passed through our first screening process. It is very important that you check your email during this time and follow the instructions. If you are selected for an award requiring an interview, you will be contacted by telephone.

I already submitted my application but I made a mistake and need to change some information. What should I do, since I cannot access the application any more?

If the deadline has not already passed, you may contact us by returning to the scholarship application center and clicking the 'contact us' link.

Please note that after the application deadline, it will not be possible to change any of the information on your application.
