Together we make a profound difference

Road to the Symposium

On May 1, eight members of Mission Lodge No. 169 will share a van from San Francisco to Los Angeles, where they'll attend the 9th Annual Masonic Symposium the following day. Their lodge brothers made it possible by agreeing to sponsor the trip.

Brother David Kidd had the idea for the road trip when he saw the topic of this year's Symposium, Applying Masonry in Contemporary Society, and thought it would be a great way for new members to bond and learn more about the fraternity. The group of eight represents a mix of Masonic experiences, from past masters to an Entered Apprentice. Four of the eight joined the fraternity within the past year.

This is the first year that Mission Lodge has sponsored a group trip to the Symposium. Kidd says it's symbolic: "It shows the brethren that we're open to change and are trying to find activities that are more appropriate for our younger members."
