Together we make a profound difference

Revealing Our Past

When you think about the history of Masonry, what comes to mind? Do you picture operative Masons carefully designing Europe’s breathtaking cathedrals, or do you imagine their speculative colleagues, finding complex philosophical meanings through these forays into architecture?

At this year’s California Masonic Symposium, “The Emergence of Speculative Masonry,” Masonic scholars will investigate the integration of the operative and speculative worlds. The topic is derived from the research of this year’s Henry Wilson Coil lecturer, A. Trevor Stewart, Ph.D.

Dr. Stewart will be joined by a panel of esteemed Masonic colleagues, including:

  • John L. Cooper, Ph.D.
  • R. Stephen Doan, P.G.M, J.D.
  • Shawn E. Eyer, M.A., P.M.
  • Timothy W. Hogan, P.M.
  • Thomas D. Worrel, M.A., M.B.A., P.M
This year, the Symposium will include a concurrent session – one lecture will be structured for the general public and a simultaneous presentation will be for Master Masons only.

Register today for this fascinating journey into Masonry’s past. Sessions will be held in both Northern and Southern California:
  • June 30, San Francisco Scottish Rite
  • July 1, Pasadena Scottish Rite
