Together we make a profound difference

Blue Lodge Goes Green

Thanks to Consuelo Lodge No. 325, spring in Escondido was a little greener this year. In May the lodge completed a major undertaking: converting its energy system to solar power.

Senior Warden Michael Sherman led the project, including selecting a local company for its installation.

Construction began in early April. By the end of May, the lodge had fully switched to solar power. In June the lodge held a public ceremony to celebrate.

The project took just six months from initial planning to completion.

The new system includes three inverters and 99 solar panels that will generate power for up to 15 and 25 years respectively. With proper maintenance, the system should last well over 40 years.
