Some 450 attendees, including Mayor Mark Green, witnessed the Masonic dedication of Acacia Creek last week.
Earlier this month, the first residents moved into the new senior living community, located on the campus of the Masonic Home at Union City.
Grand Master Kenneth G. Nagel presided over the March 14 dedication ceremony, assisted by Grand Lodge officers, a local chapter of the Masonic youth order DeMolay, and area World War II veterans.
The ceremony included a Masonic procession, pictured above, and time capsule presentation. Among the capsule's contents are soil from the site’s groundbreaking, construction plans, and the Aug/Sep 2009 issue of California Freemason magazine, which features Acacia Creek’s historic stained glass windows.
Acacia Creek’s public grand opening will be held in April.
